ABOUT ME

Technology is rapidly advancing to carry out unfathomable functions; though, it is also rapidly disconnecting itself from its users due to its sheer complexity. My goal is to bridge this gap via human-computer-interfaces (HCIs) – applying psychology and neuroscience towards the development of human-centred technologies.

EXPERIENCE
2021-Present

Sr. UX Researcher

Tulip Retail Inc.

As the first researcher, my role was to drive innovation based on user needs and data from Fashion Retail Associates, creating products to help high-fashion clients and their associates achieve their goals while ensuring scalability. To achieve this, I led cross-functional collaboration, developed a research program, and conducted both foundational and evaluative research to optimize the user experience

2017-2018

Course Coordinator

UX Research TO

I along with the UXRTO education team are planning, coordinating, and piloting UXR course material here in Toronto during summer 2018. The course will be officially launched in September 2018

2015-2018

 Research Design Lead

McMaster University

I'm currently collaborating with Engineers on a tactile navigation system — an HCI for the visually impaired. Apart from designing experiments that address crucial questions, I lead the execution of these experiments as a means to acquire data — both quantitative and qualitative — for a human-centric development process. The study is currently in the process if being published

2015-2017

Teacher Assistant

McMaster University

Assisted professors in teaching Neuroanatomy & Neurophysiology, and Clinical Neuroscience. I've had the pleasure to teach full-sized classrooms about the pathologies of different brain disorders, and consulted them as they creatively applied this knowledge towards raising awareness in local communities

2014-2015

Innovative Agent

Mosaic Sales Solutions - Samsung

In addition to bringing new immersive Samsung technology into mainstream consumerism, I circulated different hardware stores to overlook and standardize the transfer of information from store employee to customer

Freelancing

Currently in the strategizing phase for two start-ups - ContraverseVR and Kokonaut. Conducting generative research via interviews and focus groups as a means to direct evaluative research and develop early stage deliverables (user personas and journey maps)

2017-2018

UX Researcher

2018-2021

Sr. UX Researcher

Rogers Communication Inc.

Navigating various types of stakeholders through the user-centric landscape using the Jobs-to-be-Done framework, developing KPIs and Metrics that are exclusively user-experience focused, and everything in-between (i.e. generative, evaluative, mixed-methods)

Past

A series of part-time jobs that taught me the discipline of working hard!

EDUCATION
2017-Present

UX Courses

  • Conducting Usability Testing (Interaction Design Foundation)

  • User Research - Methods and Best Practices (Interaction Design Foundation)

  • Introduction to UX (MichiganX)

2015-2017

M.Sc.- Psychology

McMaster University - Tactile Perception Lab

Graduated from the Tactile Perception Lab. With the integration of Neuroscience and Engineering, we developed strategies to test the benefits of a Human-Computer-Interface (HCI) blind assist device. In turn, the findings were used towards further optimizing the device at the level of human interface

2009-2014

B.Sc.

McMaster University

Graduated with an honors. Majored in Biochemistry and minored in Neuroscience and Business
